General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)(a) Consent
General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1b) processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or by a third party except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data.
General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)(e) processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.
How we collect information
Information will be collected by a survey online, hosted through RBWMtogether.
What information is collected
The following information is collected:
- Names.
- Email addresses.
- Phone number.
- Non-specific address (confirmation that they are a Royal Borough resident).
How we use information provided
The Royal Borough is holding a competition to name some buses. As part of this, we’d like to collect minimal information – name, email/phone number, and confirmation that the participant is a resident of the borough.
This is to allow for the possibility to get in touch after the competition to inform them they’ve won and possible photo opportunities to promote the results of the competition.

How long we store your information
Your personal details will be retained for five months, until November 2026.
