Road closure and official diversion

Road closures 

A road closure on Cookham Bridge is due to be in place from Monday 16 October 2023.

The bridge will need to be closed for to motor vehicles during the work, but pedestrian access will remain.  Mobility scooter users will also be able to access the bridge. 

Cyclists will need to dismount before crossing the bridge. 

Access to any properties or business within the closure area will be maintained at all times.  Business operations will continue as normal. 

There are currently no other planned road closures.

Diversions

Cookham bridge diversion mapThe diversion route will follow the A4094 south from Cookham, along the A4 Bath Road, A404, and A4155 Marlow Road, with this route in reverse for traffic leaving Bourne End, as well as businesses and properties on the northern side of the bridge.

This is the recommended route for all vehicle types.
