Getting married at the Windsor Guildhall

Wedding at Guildhall

The Windsor Guildhall was the Royal Borough's most popular licenced venue for weddings and ceremonies in 2023.

Excluding the ceremony room at the Register Office at Maidenhead Town Hall, the Guildhall is honoured to have hosted the most ceremonies in the borough.

There are many stunning photo opportunities inside the building and on the covered area known as the Corn Exchange underneath the Guildhall. This makes us an ideal all season wedding venue as you will be guaranteed to have beautiful wedding photographs, whatever the weather.

Our central location means that you can opt to combine a Guildhall ceremony with other local hotels, restaurants or even river cruises.

How to check availability and book your ceremony

We host weddings and civil partnerships twelve months of the year, Monday to Saturday from 10am–4pm. Ceremonies outside these days and times may be accommodated on request, subject to availability.

We recommend that you first speak to our event team at the Guildhall to reserve your preferred date by emailing our event management team at guildhall@rbwm.gov.uk.

  • You can make a free, provisional booking with the Guildhall for your preferred date and time which will be reserved for you for seven days.
  • Once a provisional booking is made with the Guildhall, your details will be shared with the registrar team who will contact you to confirm their availability for your date and time and they will take payment for your ceremony with them.

You can see the registrar ceremony fees on the registrar ceremony costs page.

Finalising your booking with the Guildhall

The Windsor Guildhall is a popular wedding venue, and we can only hold a provisional booking of your chosen date and time for seven days from when you contact us.

To finalise your booking at the Guildhall, you will need to pay 50% of your room hire fee which includes a £250 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance will be invoiced 16 weeks before your wedding date.

You will need to complete a booking form to confirm details of your event requirements and for payment to be made. This will be shared with you when you make your provisional booking.

A unique heritage backdrop for your wedding

Ceremonies take place in the magnificent Council Chamber which is full of unique heritage features including royal portraits from the last five centuries. The room is flooded with natural daylight and lit by stunning chandeliers on loan to us from the current monarch.

Our flexible seating arrangements mean that the Council Chamber provides a stunning backdrop whether you are hosting a smaller, intimate ceremony with a handful of friends of family, or are planning an event with a larger guest list.

Many couples choose to extend their room hire time to include a drinks reception after their ceremony or to host their wedding breakfast here with us. You are welcome to dress the room with your choice of flowers.

How many people can I have at my ceremony?

Our flexible seating and layout options mean we can accommodate weddings and civil ceremonies for up to 100 guests.
