A new affordable parking offer has launched in Maidenhead for people taking the train into London for a weekend city break – or spending the whole of Saturday and Sunday having fun in the Royal Borough.

The council has introduced the exclusive new deal at Maidenhead’s brand new Vicus Way car park, allowing motorists arriving after 4pm on Friday to park until 11am on Monday for just £10.

The modern car park is an affordable parking base outside ULEZ – a convenient five-minute walk to the Elizabeth Line Great Western Railway station to London and Windsor. Spaces are always available, even at weekends.

Councillor Geoff Hill, Cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “Vicus Way was built primarily as additional weekday commuter parking, however our new offer allows anyone to benefit from affordable parking for their weekend leisure trips, whether staying in Maidenhead, visiting historic Windsor or taking the train into London for a city break.

“Driving into London and parking up is so expensive, so this £10 deal is a great choice if you want somewhere affordable, modern and convenient to leave your car while enjoying a fun weekend city break with family or friends – whether you’re going to see a show, a sporting fixture, or just seeing the sights.

“Also remember that parking remains free in all Maidenhead town centre car parks from 9pm on Saturday right through Sunday until 9am on Monday, which is great for a meal out at one of Maidenhead’s good range of restaurants. It’s also free from 9pm until 9am, Monday to Saturday, and all day on bank holidays too. So make the most of it.”

Payment at Vicus Way is either through the RingGo app or via phone using the automated voice service, following the instructions on the car park signage and using the five-digit zone code for the special offer that is displayed on the signage.

The discount operates on a ‘buy time’ basis instead of the usual ‘start/stop’ basis. With ‘buy time’ you can always extend your stay at any time during your live parking session.

Entry on foot and exit by vehicle or on foot is possible 24/7, and the Vicus Way has plenty of fast chargers, so if you have an electric vehicle, you can charge up while you go about your day.
