My request relates to complaints made by residents regarding the council’s provision of child social care services...
In instances where the local government and social care ombudsman upheld complaints and recommended compensation, how much was paid out?
• Please provide the figures per financial year for the following years 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23
• i.e in 2019/20, 20 complaints regarding its provision of social care services were escalated to the local government and social care ombudsman. In one instance the complaint was upheld and compensation of £1,600 was paid
Please note: if for data protection reasons you are unable to provide the figures broken down by year, please collate the figures over the four year period.
• I.e. between 2019/20 and 2022/23, a total 30 complaints were escalated to the ombudsman, 12 complaints were upheld and compensation was paid out in four instances amounting to £1,600
