Ascot Placemaking Supplementary Planning Document

The Borough Local Plan includes a high-level vision to rejuvenate Ascot as a vibrant place for the community, with an improved High Street and high-quality new development that is well integrated into Ascot and protects its green and leafy character. New development in Ascot will be focused on the High Street.

The Royal Borough is working with residents, community groups, businesses and other partners to produce a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) that will guide future development in the area, complementing the vision set in the Borough Local Plan and Neighbourhood Plan.

The SPD will provide more detail to guide developers in shaping planning applications and the Council in deciding them, as well as setting out proposals to improve the High Street.

Consultation Events

The Royal Borough is commencing early engagement for the Ascot Placemaking SPD on Monday 29 January 2024, which will continue until Friday 12 April 2024.

Two workshops are scheduled to take place during this time for the wider Ascot community to discuss key emerging themes and considerations for the SPD and Ascot’s development.

It will also be a chance for people to share thoughts and preferences for improving the High Street, strengthening stainable travel and connectivity for walkers and cyclists with the railway station via Station Hill and with the wider area.

Details for the community workshops can be found on our RBWM Together website.

For those unable to attend an evening workshop, two informal daytime drop-in sessions will take place in February, the details of which can also be found on our RBWM Together website.

The Ascot Placemaking Online Survey is now live, we would encourage all members of the Ascot Community to complete this short survey which will remain open until Friday 12 April 2024.
