Residential mobile home licensing

Information about residential mobile home sites and licences required

A residential mobile home site (or ‘relevant protected site’) is any site where mobile homes are situated to provide permanent residential accommodation, even if the site also contains holiday accommodation.

A relevant protected site must have planning permission to be used for permanent residential accommodation.

If you are unsure about whether a site is a ‘relevant protected site’ please contact environmental health residential services team for advice.

Residential sites are subject to additional rules introduced by the Mobile Homes Act 2013. Further information can be found in out Mobile Home Site Licensing Policy.
