Commonwealth

Table of Contents

The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of independent and equal sovereign states. The Queen, as Head of the Commonwealth, notes that: “Like any family, there can be differences of opinion. But however strongly they’re expressed, they are held within the common bond of friendship and shared experiences”. The children of Dedworth Middle School produced designs full of vibrant flags. The illustration on the Commonwealth panel expresses the unity of the Commonwealth through the Commonwealth symbol, the flying flags and symbolic depiction of oak leaves which represent sovereignty, strength and endurance, heads of wheat which represent prosperity; olive leaves and a dove to represent peace.
