Submitted 2022/2023

Presented by: Mohammed Yasin - Petitions submitted Thursday 9 June and Friday 10 June 2022.
Lead Officer: Greg Nelson - Trading Standards and Licensing Manager
Petition: We, the Hackney Carriage drivers of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, petition the Licensing Panel to raise the rates of Hackney Carriage fares. We feel that with the rises in the cost of living, that now is an appropriate time to update the current tariff. We also wish for the Council to increase the fare price for normal vehicle hire. We would also like the fare of a people carrier rate to be increased to a time and half tariff.
Update: The petitions were considered and approved by Members of the Licensing Panel at the meeting held on Tuesday 5 July 2022.

Presented by: Ben Karter - Petition submitted Monday 20 June 2022.
Lead Officer: Tim Golabek - Service Lead, Transport & Infrastructure / Huw Jones - Traffic Safety Manager
Petition: Speed restrictions needed on Sutton Road (near Sutton Close) in Cookham, to protect our children on their routes to school
Update: Various discussions have been had with the Parish Council and we are still working towards solutions and funding. Larger schemes have still been put aside for the moment as residents have been unable to agree upon what they wished to pursue with officers. Further conversations have occurred with Ward Councillors, however as of Monday 6 March 2024, no agreeable way forward has been decided with residents. Councillor Howard is currently liaising with these residents.

Lead Officer: Kevin McDaniel - Executive Director of People Services
Petition: We the undersigned petition the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead to make plans for and build a new secondary school in the Oldfield ward of Maidenhead.
Update: On Thursday 15 December 2022, Cabinet received an update on the provision of school places across the Borough. This was based on the latest data and assessment of population changes from a number of sources.  The report concluded that the current provision was sufficient and the plans to include additional school provision alongside the development of further housing in the south-west of Maidenhead remain appropriate.
