The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is trialing a new project in the Clewer and Dedworth East ward to improve older and disabled people’s access to local services and key local places. The aim is to combat loneliness by prioritising highway repairs and related works that may be hindering people getting out into the community or from being active.
We are working with local charities and organisations to consult with older and disabled people living in a single polling district of the Clewer and Dedworth East ward to learn what barriers they face when going out and about in the community, in particular along their main routes to key places and services, such as the shops, post office, library and GP surgeries. The results of the consultation will enable us to identify which routes to prioritise for repairs or works in order to improve access, and to carry out the necessary repairs. We will then consult the same local residents after the works have been completed to measure the impact of the interventions.
We will collect personal information on the Getting Out and About consultation questionnaire. Personal data is provided by the resident either by post, telephone, in person or electronically by email or by completing the consultation questionnaire as an online form on our website.
