New Local Plan

On Wednesday 24 June 2026 the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead gives Notice of Intention to Commence the preparation of the Development Plan for the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.  

This marks the formal start of the process for preparing the Development Plan for the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. 

The Plan will cover the geographical area of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, as shown in the map below. Or view via the pdf version.

The ONS code for the area is E06000040.

The Plan will not incorporate any of the minerals and waste local plan.

The Local Plan Timetable sets out the key milestones for preparing the plan.  

The formal 30-month plan preparation period is expected to start on Thursday 29 October 2026, which is when the Council expects to pass through Gateway 1.
