Planning policy document system

We are currently undertaking improvements to our Planning Policy document system. During the transition some Planning Policy documents may be temporarily unavailable between late August and early September 2026.

Strategic flood risk assessment

In November 2007, the Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) for the Royal Borough was approved by the council's cabinet for development control purposes and to inform the emerging Local Plan.

Self-build or custom build helps to diversify the housing market and increase consumer choice. Self-build and custom housebuilders choose the design and layout of their home and can be innovative in both its design and construction.

Berkshire strategic housing market assessment

A Strategic Housing Market Assessment provides detailed information about existing and future housing need and demand.

Open space study

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead submitted its Borough Local Plan (2013-2033) in January 2018 for independent examination.

Retail Health Checks are produced to monitor the performance, or health, of the main retail centres within the Royal Borough, namely Windsor, Maidenhead, Ascot and Sunningdale.
