Parish register transcripts

Table of Contents

Parish Registers are records of baptisms, marriages and burials made by the Church. They are a valuable resource for researching your family tree because the census and official records of birth, marriage and death began in 1837.

At Maidenhead library

There are transcripts of registers for all Maidenhead parishes except Waltham St. Lawrence, and transcripts of registers for a number of other parishes in former Berkshire, not including Windsor. Known as the "Brooks collection", it covers the period from the 1500s to 1837 (and in some cases well into the C20th).  The Berkshire Record Office holds other and more recent registers.

At Windsor library
