Sir Henry Walford Davies (1869-1941)

Sir Henry Walford Davies was a British composer, who held the title of Master of the King’s Musick from 1934 -1941. He was organist at St George’s Chapel from 1927. During World War One he joined the Committee for Music in War Time and establishedthe RAF bands, composing the well known  Royal AIR Force March past.

The plaque was unveiled in April 2004
