Trees and woodlands are an essential part of the borough’s character and identity.
Clearance to roads, paths and structures
The council will carry out works to trees where branches are causing an obstruction to a public highway, right of way, access to a property or in contact with buildings or walls/fences.
Normal clearances are 2.5m over pavements and footpaths, 5.3m over the adopted road, 5m over byways, 3.5m over bridleways and 1-2m to buildings, 0.3-1m to walls/fences, overhead utilities and street signs/lights.
