Tree, wood and hedgerow protection

A TPO is made by the council to protect specific trees, groups/areas of trees and woodlands in the interests of amenity.

Property owners are responsible for the maintenance of any tree on their land.

The council undertakes inspections of trees on the public highway, which will generate works for health and safety reasons.

Protected trees are those covered by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs), planning conditions or situated in Conservation Areas.

In dealing with any complaints the Council will follow the detailed guidance given by the DCLG.

The proposed trees are ones we have identified as part of a strategic review but also includes direct replacements for trees previously removed.
