Housing benefit and council tax support

If you pay rent and/or Council Tax for your home and you live on a low income, you may be eligible for some help by claiming benefit.

Benefit Cap

The Benefit Cap was first implemented in April 2013, the Benefit Cap limits the total amount of benefit you can receive.

It applies to most people aged 16 or over who have not yet reached state pension age.
