Next stop for taskforce covers Ascot and Sunninghill in latest borough clean-up

The Royal Borough’s ‘Cleaner, Greener, Safer’ task force has hit the streets of Ascot and Sunninghill this week (Tuesday 29 July), in the latest of a series of targeted clean-up days across the borough.
Cllrs clearing up waste

Building on the previous clean-ups in Maidenhead and Windsor earlier this year, the day of action saw council teams out with Cabinet members and contractors to help spruce up public spaces - tackling litter, fly-tipping, making sure bins are being promptly emptied, removing graffiti, and talking to local businesses about how to responsibly dispose of their waste.

Councillor Richard Coe, Cabinet Member for Household and Regulatory Services, said: “We’re committed to making every part of the borough cleaner and more welcoming – and the taskforce action days are about rolling up our sleeves, getting things done, and supporting communities to take pride in their local area.

After positive results in Windsor and Maidenhead, it’s great to bring that same focus to Ascot and Sunninghill.”

Tackling fly-tipping remains a key focus, with the council reminding residents and businesses that dumping waste is a serious offence – and those that dump their waste risk a fine or even prosecution. Leaving waste beside bins can also be considered fly-tipping and lead to fines.

The council is also reminding businesses to manage waste correctly and encouraging residents to report issues like graffiti, fly-tipping or littering via the website
