Bike repair

Just like cars and other vehicles, bikes need regular servicing to keep them in good condition. Handlebars, brakes, chains, tyres and pedals all need checking and ensuring that they are in good working order.

It is a good idea to get your bike booked in for a service each year. Always keep a bike in good working order for your safety and the safety of other road users.

Many bike shops around the borough offer routine checks and repair services commercially.

The borough is also home to two community-run Cycle Hubs that offer bike repair services, training courses in bike maintenance and 'Dr Bike' events.

  • Maidenhead Cycle Hub have a number of services on offer at their Nicholsons Centre shop in Maidenhead, including bike servicing and repair, and classes for adults wishing to learn how to maintain and service their own bikes.
  • Windsor Cycle Hub - based at The Swan, Mill Lane, Windsor, and offering a Saturday bike kitchen for free safety checks and repairs. Booking is recommended through their website.

Additionally, retail chain Halfords have partnered with Bikeability to offer free bike health checks.
