Check for any disruption on trains and buses before you travel.
View current and planned disruption to rail services on your train operator's website:
For Maidenhead, check Elizabeth Line and Great Western Railway.
For Windsor & Eton Central, Cookham and Furze Platt, check Great Western Railway.
For Windsor & Eton Riverside, Ascot, Datchet, Sunningdale, Sunnymeads and Wraysbury, check South Western Railway
View current and planned bus diversions and stop closures on your bus operator's website.
For bus operators not listed, you will need to contact the bus company directly.
If you are unsure who operates the bus that you're interested in, you can find this out using our bus routes webpage.
Some operators have apps where you can sign up to receive alerts about any disruption or changes to the bus routes and stop that you use the most, to ensure you are always in the know.
For most trains and buses, you can track your service in real-time on the operator's app or website.
Most railway stations and some bus stops have live 'countdown' screens showing upcoming departures.
Occasionally, bus stops will need to temporarily close as a result of roadworks. The organisation undertaking the roadworks (such as a utility company) is responsible for making alternative arrangements with bus companies, and for making it clear that the bus stop is not in use and where you can board your bus instead.
Bus companies will publish details of stop closures as part of their live service updates (see live bus service updates section, above). We recommend checking the status update for your bus route and stops a suitable amount of time before travelling, and signing up for alerts on your bus company's app (see sign up for alerts section, above).
Bus and train operators are informed in advance of planned roadworks, engineering works, diversions and stop/station closures, and publish information on upcoming disruption to their services on their website in advance – see service updates section, above.
Sometimes incidents can happen on the day, including emergency roadworks and engineering works where a problem requires an immediate, unplanned fix. Where this happens, bus and train operators will update their websites as soon as the incident is known about. We recommend always visiting your bus or train operator’s website a suitable amount of time before travelling, to check whether there will be any on-the-day incidents that impact your journey, and also signing up for alerts on your bus or train operator's app.
