Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) expand on or add detail to policies set out in Development Plan Documents such as the Borough Local Plan.

Approved Stakeholder Masterplan Documents (SMDs)

The stakeholder master planning process formalises good practice in relation to pre-application discussions with the council, stakeholders, and the local community, by requiring developers of larger sites to engage at an early stage in the development process.

Biodiversity net gain

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is the process by which any major development that goes through the planning application process must deliver at least 10% net gain on the biodiversity baseline pre-development.

Article 4 Direction Class E to C3 use on Protected Employment Sites

An Article 4 direction enables a local planning authority to withdraw specified permitted development rights across a defined area.
