Recruiting Summer Reading Challenge Volunteers 2025

We are now recruiting for Summer Reading Challenge Volunteers!

If you are 14 years old or more, you love reading and you want to use the Summer to develop key skills such as communication, time management, attention to detail and self organisation, we want to hear from you.

Audiobook and DvD Sale

Maidenhead Library

Wednesday 4 June to Wednesday 18 June.

Friends of RBWM Libraries will be running a sale of withdrawn audiobooks and DvDs. Items will be priced between £1 and £5, including language courses. Cash only and while stock lasts.

Dungeon Master Training

From player to master, it's your turn behind the screen. 

These training sessions are designed for seasoned D&D players ready to step into the role of Dungeon Master. Learn how to craft compelling narratives, run dynamic encounters, and keep your table engaged through every campaign. It's time to level up.

A Year in the Life of a Beehive

Sunninghill Library

Saturday 5 July, 2.30pm.

Discover the story of a year in the life of a beehive, the role and behaviour of the queen, drones and workers, feeding and general care of the hive. An instructive presentation for existing beekeepers, and a fascinating introduction to bees for adults and children to enjoy.

Local expert Glynis Morse has been keeping bees for nearly twenty years and her bees' honey has won numerous awards. She will bring her protective clothing, a virtual hive, a smoker, used combs and a jar of pollen. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to handle the equipment.
