Volunteering in your community

All about Volunteering in the Royal Borough

We are committed to supporting local people to get involved with what matters most to them in their local communities.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. It also offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around you.

Volunteering Opportunities

There are multiple volunteering roles available across the borough from local groups to community organisations, to national charities.

Through our dedicated volunteering page on RBWMTogether you can browse our current offers and reach out directly to the organisations that take your interest.

You can also sign up to our quarterly newsletter that includes the latest opportunities, updates, access to training and upcoming events. Please follow the link below for full details.

Corporate Volunteering

We are fortunate to have a number of businesses in the borough, of all sizes. The desire to give back to the community is something we want to support and facilitate.

If you are part of an organisation that would like to undertake corporate volunteering, please email volunteer@rbwm.gov.uk to find out how we can help.

Voluntary and Community Sector Partnership

The RBWM Voluntary and Community Sector Partnership has been created to build capacity and support the development of voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations, that engage residents across the borough.

Our aim is to encourage collaboration and offer a supportive environment where all VCSs can come together to discuss ongoing issues and celebrate successes.

The intention of the partnership is to foster a co-productive space that allows for the free and respectful exchange of ideas between organisations.

The partnership’s steering committee comprises

  • WAM Get Involved
  • RBWM Communities Team
  • Windsor and Maidenhead Community Forum
  • Berkshire Community Foundation
  • East Berkshire Community Learning and Skills Service

We hold public forums each quarter that are free to attend and are open to anyone who is part of, or works with, the voluntary and community sector anywhere in the borough.

To find out more, read our outcome reports and find the date of our next forum please visit our website below.
