RBWM Local Elections
Please note that RBWM run local elections every four years. The next Local Elections for RBWM is scheduled for Thursday 6 May 2027.
For the use of residents of the Royal Borough only. You will be asked to produce your Advantage Card as proof of residency. Alternatively, you can produce photo ID together with proof of residency such as a council tax statement or utility bill. Please display proof of residency on your dashboard for crews to see.
This site is accessible by vehicle only. Pedestrians are not allowed to carry waste onto the site.
Height restriction
Please note there is a height restriction barrier which operates at 2.1m or 6'9''.
In addition, trailers are admitted to the site but as large vehicles are unable to manoeuvre safely on site and can block access for other users, the maximum size of trailer permitted is 2m x 1.3m wide. The maximum length for vans and cars with trailers is 5.56m.

The site is open seven days a week and only closes on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

Van permit required: Every time you visit with a van or commercial-type vehicle to dispose of your own household waste and recycling at the Stafferton Way (HWRC) site, will need to apply for a van permit.
All domestic waste is accepted at Stafferton Way HWRC.
Items accepted for recycling
Please ensure any food appliances are emptied of all food. Any units received that contain food or contamination may be rejected.
We can accept the following items, but they cannot be recycled
Home improvements
If you are carrying out your own home improvements, we can accept the equivalent of one car boot load (six sacks) per trip, per month.
Excluded waste streams that cannot be accepted
We cannot accept excluded items under any circumstances, and anyone bringing these to the site will be asked to take them away with them.
Gas cylinders
Gas cylinders should never be put into rubbish or recycling bins as there is a high risk of fire if the cylinder is crushed or punctured. You should always approach the supplier of the gas cylinder first, before bringing it to Stafferton Way HWRC.
Gas cylinders, including helium and fast gas cannisters, should always be handed to a member of staff at the site for safety.
Site rules
Stafferton Way Household Waste and Recycling Centre has heavy machinery operating and a constant flow of traffic. Rules are in place to make sure your visit is as quick, easy and safe as possible.
The following site rules must be followed at all times. Failure to comply with these rules may result in being refused entry or directed to leave the site immediately.
