The Mayor’s Benevolent Fund (registered charity number 269134) was set up in 1975 for the benefit of residents within the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead for charitable purposes including the relief of poverty and hardship and the advancement of education.
Applications are usually received via third parties in support of the application. For example through Housing Associations and Social Workers.
The Trustees of the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund consider all the applications received and if successful a grant is made on a one-off basis often via a voucher for essential household items and white goods.
In recent years there has been a very large increase in the number of applications and demands being made on the very limited resources in the Fund.
