I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 concerning the streetlighting on the A308 (a major public road ) between Windsor and Maidenhead.
The streetlights along this section of road appear to be in a poor state of repair. I would therefore like to obtain the following information:
1. Number of streetlights
How many streetlights are installed on the A308 between the junction with Mill Lane, Windsor, and the junction with Holyport Road, Maidenhead?
2. Operational status of streetlights
Between 7:00 pm on 15 October 2026 and 7:00 am on 16 October 2026, how many of the streetlights identified in question 1 were actually illuminated and functioning?
For clarity, I would be grateful if the response could distinguish, where records permit, between:
•    Streetlights that were operating normally.
•    Streetlights that were not illuminated or were otherwise defective.
•    Streetlights that were switched off, subject to a planned lighting reduction, or otherwise intentionally not operating.
If the Council does not hold records showing the actual operational status of each streetlight during this period, please confirm whether any inspection records, fault reports, maintenance logs, contractor records, remote monitoring data or other relevant information are held that could establish their operational status.
If the requested information is held by another authority or organisation responsible for any part of this section of the A308, please advise me accordingly and, where possible, identify the responsible authority.
