1. Does the RBWM Tree team always comply with "Government guidance and the law 06/03/2014"
2. Government guidance and the law states "The area category is intended for short term protection in an emergency" What time period would RBWM tree team class as "Short Term"
3. In my freedom of information request FOI001437 of April 2 2025 your team highlighted that there were 392 inappropriate "area" Tree Preservation Orders five years old or older. Clearly five years is far too long for an area category to remain in place. How many in the last 11 Months have you got this number down too?
4. The oldest Area TPO was from 31/01/1951 (001/1951/TPO). Has this 75 year old TPO been updated and would RBWM tree team agree a 75 Year old area TPO is unacceptable?
5. When can the tax payers of RBWM expect the tree team to comply with guidance and the law 2014 and bring the number of area TPO's over five years down to 0?
6.Have any new area TPO's been made since April 2nd 2025?
7. On conducting my work I have had RBWM arboricultural officers either be completely unable to tell me if trees have TPO's on them even with them making a site visit, or other occasions make mistakes and inform me there was a TPO only to find my customer had an email from your department telling them there wasn't. Clearly the TPO maps are so out of date or ambiguous it is causing your staff issues. When can the taxpayers of Windsor and Maidenhead expect upto date accurate maps that both they and the Tree Team can interpret?
7. On a recent application I was told even with an ordnance survey licence I would not be able to use the TPO map you had supplied showing the trees location as the planning department said the maps were "unsuitable as they were too old". Why are contractors and the public not able to use the site plans you supply because of their age and nothing matching what is on the ground currently but you expect them to be able to interpret them when they need to decide if they can legally trim their trees without consent or not?
8. How many applications to carry out work to trees protected by a TPO did RBWM receive in 2024 and 2025?
9. How many of these applications for 2024 and 2025 did RBWM tree team miss the determination deadline?
10. Could you please provide information regarding any historical discrepancies in the RBWM tree protection records over the last decade? Specifically, I am inquiring if there have been instances where the status of a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) was incorrectly communicated to an interested party?
11. When a new TPO is made or an old one amended is a formal meeting held and are minutes of the meeting taken? If so can interested parties get copies of these minutes specifically but not limited to why their appeal was not upheld?
