The lawful basis we rely on to process your personal data is article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR, which allows us to process personal data when this is necessary for the performance of a task carried in the public interest.
Where special category data is processed, such as health, racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, the lawful basis we rely on is article 9(2)(g) of the UK GDPR. Where processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest. As we are allocating funds for public services, we believe this processing of personal data is of substantial public interest.
The legislation governing this requirement is the Local Government Act 2000.
Personal data may be collected using the Council’s digital consultation platform, including paper versions of the consultation available at the RBWM Libraries, email, face to face or by phone.
Age, gender, disabilities, status within the Borough (e.g., resident, work in the Borough, local business, local community etc), diversity characteristics, religion, ward area.
• Analysis purposes.
• Propose council tax increases.
• Set budget proposals for service areas.
Internal RBWM Council departments where necessary, including the RBWM Strategy, Policy and Performance Team and the Communications Team.
Aggregated statistics of consultation outcomes are shared internally, with RBWM elected members and anonymised data may be shared with the general public.
Four years, following closure of the consultation process, in line with the length of the Council Plan period.
