School term and holiday dates for community and voluntary controlled schools.  Academy, free and voluntary aided schools can set their own term dates, so please check with your school. 

Autumn 2027

Term 1 (38 days)

• Term starts on: Wednesday 1 September 2027.
• Term ends on: Friday 22 October 2027.

October holiday: Monday 25 October 2027 to Friday 29 October 2027.

Term 2 (35 days)

• Term starts on: Monday 1 November 2027.
• Term ends on: Friday 17 December 2027.

Christmas holiday: Monday 20 December 2027 to Monday 3 January 2028.

Spring 2028

Term 3 (29 days)

• Term starts on: Tuesday 4 January 2028.
• Term ends on: Friday 11 February 2028.

February holiday: Monday 14 February 2028 to Friday 18 February 2028.

Term 4 (30 days)

• Term starts on: Monday 21 February 2028.
• Term ends on: Friday 31 March 2028.

Spring holiday: Monday 3 April to Monday 17 April 2028.

(Good Friday- 14 April 2028; Easter Monday- 17 April 2028)

Summer 2028

Term 5 (28 days)

• Term starts on: Tuesday 18 April 2028.
• Term ends on: Friday 26 May 2028.

May holiday: Tuesday 30 May 2028 to Friday 2 June 2028.

Term 6 (36 days)

• Term starts on: Monday 5 June 2028.
• Term ends on: Friday 21 July 2028.

Inset days

There are five Inset (Teacher Training) Days to be taken during the 2027/2028 academic year. One of these, set by the LA, will be the first day of Term 1 (Wednesday 1 September 2027).  The remaining four days must be taken within the 195 days given here.  These dates will be set by the school and communicated to parents directly.
