School admission appeals

We want to make sure that you receive the most effective support and guidance when submitting your appeal with us. 

Please Note: You must read the Admissions Appeals Guide before making an appeal to make sure that your case meets the criteria.

How to make an appeal

You cannot go through this appeal process if:

• you are appealing for a lower preference school if you have been offered a higher preference school.
• if your child has an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), you will need to contact the Children and Young People Disability Service (CYPDS) via email at cypds@achievingforchildren.org.uk.
• if your child has been permanently excluded from two or more schools for two years after the second or any subsequent exclusion.

If you have been refused a place at one of the following schools, you have the right to appeal to us against the decision.
