Planning Gateway meetings

Under the National Scheme of Delegation regulations and the Council’s constitution, Gateway meetings are held for the nominated officer and nominated member to assess if an application under Schedule 2 or Councillor referral meets the gateway test and will go to the relevant Development Management Committee.

The meeting is not a determination of a planning application. These meetings are undertaken in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Discharge of Local Planning Authority Functions) (England) Regulations 2026 which come into force on Saturday 31 October 2026.
