Cllr Sian Martin has been elected as Mayor, taking on the borough’s ceremonial role from her predecessor, Cllr Mandy Brar. Cllr Martin previously served as Deputy Mayor. Councillor Helen Taylor has been elected as Deputy Mayor.
Cllr Martin, who represents Belmont ward, was first elected in 2023. Raised in Maidenhead, she went on to build a career in graphic design, co-founding two successful design and print businesses in the borough with her husband, Tim. Alongside her professional work, she has been a long-standing supporter of local charities, both as a councillor and through her business activities.
Cllr Taylor, who represents Oldfield ward, was first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023. She moved to the Royal Borough in 2014 and has a strong record of community involvement. A long-time advocate for animal welfare, she has spent more than 20 years rescuing cats and supporting local animal charities. In her council role, she is also RBWM’s Social Housing Champion.

The mayoralty continues a strong tradition of fundraising and community support. During her term, outgoing Mayor Cllr Mandy Brar hosted three charity dinners, raising £22,000 to support Thames Hospice, the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund and Elizabeth House in Cookham, benefiting residents across the borough.
The Mayor, Cllr Martin is committed to supporting charities during her term. The new mayoral charities selected for 2026/27 are the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund and No. 22 Counselling.
