Following a review of the bus network in partnership with Carousel and Thames Valley Buses, bus routes will be updated to reflect demand and feedback. Routes shown to have higher levels of usage and demand will now have more frequent buses, including route 7 which will run up to every 20 minutes between Maidenhead, Cox Green and Woodlands Park and route 37, a major link between Maidenhead and Windsor, High Wycombe and Bourne End, will be enhanced to a 30-minute service.
Other highlights include an improved link to Heathrow Airport with route 704 which will run new journeys through the evening and on Sundays, with additional stops on the Slough Trading Estate for commuters Monday to Saturday. Route 15 will have a new Sunday service, providing even more connections between Maidenhead and Slough, via Taplow, Eton Wick and Eton.
Cabinet member of Highways and Transport, Cllr Geoff Hill said: “We know it can be frustrating when you wait ages for a bus and then two come along at once. The new improvements incorporate feedback and usage to best serve the people who use the service and provide an alternative way of travelling that is better for both residents and the environment. These changes mean more buses on the roads and revised timetables with routes now hitting hotspots, making it easier than ever to travel across the borough.”
The latest enhancements to the bus service follows new contracts awarded in early 2025 and updates later last year which saw additional stops, new routes and investment into upgraded buses. The changes have seen significant improvements to links across the borough’s towns, villages and surrounding areas as part of the council’s commitment to a cleaner and greener borough.
