The church as a community hub will receive £25,000 for ambitious plans to create a welcoming, inclusive space that dramatically reduces energy costs and carbon emissions with the installation of a new solar array.
This grant is part of the Big Climate Pot, a local funding programme designed to accelerate grassroots climate action. By investing in projects that deliver real environmental benefits and improve community wellbeing, the initiative helps turn bold ideas into lasting impact. The Big Climate Pot is funded through developer contributions to the borough’s Carbon Offset Fund, ensuring that new development supports a greener and safer future.
The Climate Partnership — which oversees the Big Climate Pot — is supported by the council and governed in collaboration with local businesses and community groups to enable decarbonisation in the borough. It reflects the borough’s commitment to building a cleaner, greener, safer, and more prosperous community.
Councillor Karen Davies, Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Biodiversity & Windsor Town Council and Chair of The Climate Partnership, said: “This is a fantastic example of how community-led projects, supported through strong partnerships, can make a real difference. Holy Trinity’s commitment to sustainability and inclusivity is inspiring, and we’re proud to support their efforts through the Big Climate Pot.”
