All HMOs must be managed effectively and failing to keep an HMO in good and safe repair is an offence.
If you suspect a property may be an HMO without a licence or if you know of an HMO which is unsafe, in poor repair or you have concerns about the management you can report it to us to investigate.
Please see the GOV.UK website to find out what makes a property an HMO. There is also further information on our website.

Register of HMO licences
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead keeps a register of all licences that have been issued to operate Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO’s). This also includes registers for Temporary Exemption Notices (TEN’s) issued or Management Orders that have been made.
The full HMO register includes the property address details of the licence holder, maximum number of people allowed to live in the property, number of amenities, date of issue and the expiry date of the licence.
New licence applications will not appear on the register until they have been processed and issued.
To access a copy of the registers or information for an individual property please contact the Residential Services Team using the following email address: residential.services@rbwm.gov.uk.
A charge may be made for a printed copy of the full register.
