Within the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead anyone carrying out the practices of acupuncture, electrolysis, ear piercing and tattooing (including semi-permanent or microblading) must register themselves and their premises. They must also follow and comply with local bylaws to ensure that the procedures, equipment and facilities used are safe, hygienic, prevent the spread of disease and comply fully with the general duty of care required by the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
Please note, this registration only relates to the piercing activities named above. We do not currently register or license any other special treatment or beauty activity such as laser or UV light treatment, nails, eyelashes, massage, Bottox or sun tanning salons.
There are three different sets of bylaws which practitioners must follow:
- Ear piercing and Electrolysis
A fee is payable for the registration of the premise and the applicant and any additional practitioners who will need to be registered separately. Once we receive your completed application form(s), we will contact you to clarify the details given, and to raise an invoice for payment prior to arranging an an inspection.
