Local flood risk management strategy

As a Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA), the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have a duty to publish a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.

This requirement is set out in Section 9 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 which states that an LLFA has a duty to “develop, maintain, apply and monitor a strategy for local flood risk management in its area”.

This strategy should be in line with the National Flood Risk Management Strategy, setting out how local flood risk will be managed across the borough.

The current local flood risk management strategy was published in 2014.

Local Flood Risk Management Strategy Update

The Council are consulting on an updated Local Flood Risk Management Strategy. We would like to encourage residents to respond to the consultation. You can find the draft strategy, associated documents and consultation form on RBWM Together.
