I am writing to submit a Freedom of Information request regarding pothole reports, repairs and outstanding road defects within your local authority.
Please could you provide the following information for the most recent financial year for which data is available, ideally covering 2025–2026:
1) Pothole reports: The total number of potholes reported to your authority.
2) Pothole repairs: The total number of potholes repaired by your authority.
3) Outstanding potholes: The current number of reported potholes that remain outstanding and are awaiting repair.
4) Compensation claims: The total number of compensation claims received by your authority relating to pothole-related vehicle damage, and the number of these claims that were successful, where recorded.
5) Compensation payments: The total amount paid out in compensation by your authority for pothole-related vehicle damage during the same period, where available.
Where possible, please provide the data broken down by month, specifying the relevant dates and any definitions used to classify pothole reports, repairs and outstanding defects.
