I am writing to make a request for all the following information listed below, to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please provide a comprehensive list of all known completed developments within your authority’s area where designated open space was intended to be adopted by the council but has not, to date, been formally adopted.
Please provide the following:
Essential supporting data
a. Site Name/Address
b. Developer Name
c. Amount of commuted sum to be paid to facilitate adoption
d. Whether the commuted sum to facilitate adoption has been paid
Desired additional data
e. Planning Application Reference(s).
f. Reasons why the Local Authority have not adopted the open space
g. Any additional relevant information
Request on hold for clarification 14/04/2026
Clarification provided 08/05/2026
Clarifying the points:
• The time period for my request is 2016 to present.
• By “adopted by the council”, I am referring to open space that has been provided on-site and subsequently adopted and maintained by the council as public open space (rather than financial contributions secured via Section 106 agreements).
However, I would be interested in both on-site adoption and financial contributions secured via Section 106 agreements, where this information is available.
For context, I am particularly interested in understanding how open space and SANG land is secured and managed over the long term, including both public and private adoption approaches.
