Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am requesting data relating to bus lane enforcement carried out by your authority.
This request relates only to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued for bus lane contraventions enforced by your authority.
If your authority does not carry out bus lane enforcement, please confirm accordingly.
Please provide the following information for each of the last three full calendar years 2023, 2024 and 2025:
1) Annual totals (1 January – 31 December):
a) The total number of bus lane PCNs issued.
b) A monthly breakdown of the total number of bus lane PCNs issued, by month.
c) The total revenue generated from bus lane PCNs.
d) Where recorded, the number of bus lane PCNs paid at the discounted rate.
2) Bus lane enforcement locations / hotspots:
Please provide the single bus lane or road location where the highest number of bus lane PCNs were issued across the combined period 2023–2025, including:
a) The road or bus lane location name
b) The total number of PCNs issued at that location across the period
3) Appeals and cancellations:
For each year listed above, please provide:
a) The total number of appeals received in relation to bus lane PCNs.
b) The total number of appeals upheld (i.e. where the PCN was cancelled following an appeal).
4) Overall enforcement coverage (where recorded):
If available, please confirm:
a) The total number of bus lanes enforced by camera or other automated enforcement methods.
b) The number of new bus lane enforcement cameras installed between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2025.
c) The number of new bus lanes introduced that are subject to enforcement between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2025.
If any element of this request is likely to exceed the Section 12 cost limit, please advise which parts can be provided within the limit.
