I’m writing regarding a new CCTV camera mounted on a street lighting column overlooking the entrance to Windsor FC / St Leonard’s Road. One nearby residential property may be within the field of view.

Please confirm whether this installation is authorised and provide the following:

1.    Permission details
•    Was permission granted to install CCTV on this street lighting column?
•    Date granted and date(s) valid (start/expiry).
•    Name of the applicant (WEFC CIC / The Crown Estate / contractor) and any agent acting on their behalf.
•    Asset owner for the column (RBWM / PFI/maintenance contractor) and who authorised the attachment.
•    Reference numbers (permit/licence/road-space booking/work order).

2.    Purpose and legal basis
•    Declared purpose of the camera (e.g., traffic management survey for consultation).
•    Data controller and contact responsible for the footage.
•    Legal basis relied upon (UK GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018) and whether a DPIA (Data Protection Impact Assessment) was completed.
•    Confirmation that the installation complies with the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice (signage, necessity, proportionality).

3.    Operational specifics
•    Exact location and column ID On  the close/Highway between the entrance to WEFC and the junction of the Main SttLeonards Rd Highway
•    Field of view and whether residential facades/gardens are captured; any privacy masking in place.
•    Recording schedule (continuous or timed), retention period, and who can access the footage.
•    Whether live monitoring occurs; if so, by whom and where.
•    Signage installed on site (wording and placement). We cannot see any for ourselves.

4.    Installation method and safety
•    Date installed and by whom.
•    Any structural assessment for the lighting column (additional equipment load/ wind loading).
•    Any traffic management/TTRO or road-space booking used during installation.

5.    Use in consultation / sharing with RBWM
•    Is the camera part of the traffic management consultation that Windsor FC is required to undertake?
•    Will footage or survey outputs be shared with RBWM or form part of any Transport Statement/Travel Plan?
•    If temporary, the planned removal date.
