Following our recent correspondence regarding supported living services, we would now like to request updated information under the Freedom of Information Act on domiciliary care commissioned within your local authority.
Please could you provide information on the following:
Commissioning Arrangements
• How does your council currently commission domiciliary care services?
• Are services procured via frameworks, dynamic purchasing systems, or spot purchase?
• When are these frameworks or contracts due for renewal or re-tendering?
Approved Provider Lists
• Does the council have an approved provider list for domiciliary care?
• If so, when will applications reopen, and what criteria must providers meet?
Pricing and Fee Rates
• What are the current hourly rates paid for standard domiciliary care services (e.g. personal care, domestic support)?
• Are there enhanced rates for evenings, weekends, complex needs, or rural areas?
• Are there separate rates for specialist services such as dementia or end-of-life care?
Referral Processes
• How are service users referred to domiciliary care providers?
• What is the average time from referral to care package start?
Demand and Service Gaps
• Are there known shortages or priority areas for domiciliary care (e.g. specific specialisms, languages, or geographical areas)?
• Do you anticipate increased demand over the next 12–24 months?
Provider Engagement
• How can new providers engage with your commissioning or brokerage teams?
• Are there upcoming provider forums, engagement events, or market opportunities?
• Could you provide contact details for the relevant commissioners or teams responsible for domiciliary care?
