State visit
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman will visit Windsor, as guests of Their Majesties The King and Queen, with preparations beginning on Monday 19 October 2026. Find out more.
In May 2019 Cabinet passed the following resolution, "Approves a revision to the Highways Maintenance Management Plan to enable every carriageway pothole over 40mm, or footway defect over 25mm to be repaired within 24 hours regardless of category of road, at an additional cost of £450,000.”
My FOI questions are:
1. Was this decision to change the Highways Maintenance Management Plan regarding pothole repairs ever rescinded and when?
2. What is the current wording for pothole repair in the HMMP?
3. Are we still paying the contractor an extra £450,000 per year plus inflationary costs for this extra maintenance responsibility.
