  • Housing and Public Protection (Environmental Health and Trading Standards).
  • Neighbourhood Services (Highways, Transport, Parking, Waste, Parks, Cemeteries, Sport and Leisure).
  • Placemaking, Property and Sustainability (Regeneration, Facilities, Asset Management, Natural Environment and Arboriculture).
  • Planning Service (Development Management, Planning Policy, Building Control).

Key tasks include:

  • Lead the place directorate in a manner that builds ownership and commitment, connects the council plan to action, provides clear accountability, manages performance and delivers results.
  • A member of the Executive Leadership Team, provide leadership and management, to ensure the council’s vision, financial improvement and sustainability plan are realised.
  • Actively pursue the engagement of residents and service users in service design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Deliver high performing, highly visible, resident facing services across the borough.
  • Realise the Council’s growth ambition through housing delivery and regeneration schemes.
  • To create a cleaner, greener, safer and more prosperous borough for all residents and visitors of the Royal Borough.
