Mayor's Sunday
This civic service is held each year, shortly after the mayormaking ceremony, and takes place at the Borough Church of St Andrew & St Mary Magdalene, St. Mary's Close, Maidenhead. The service celebrates the inauguration of the new Mayor and is attended by Councillors, Past Mayor's, Freemen of the Borough and sections of the Royal Borough's community.
Battle of Britain Civic Services
The Mayor and the Deputy Mayor attend The Royal Air Forces Association Annual Battle of Britain Service held in September each year at The Parish Church of St. John The Baptist, High Street, Windsor.
Remembrance Sunday Civic Services
The Day of Remembrance is held nationally each year on the nearest Sunday to the 11th November. Services are held throughout the Borough, with the Civic Services being held at Borough Church of St Andrew & St Mary Magdalene, St. Mary's Close, Maidenhead and The Parish Church of St. John The Baptist, High Street, Windsor. These services specifically provide the opportunity for residents of the Royal Borough to formally pay tribute to all those who have given their lives in the service of this country.
The Mayor, as first citizen of the Royal Borough, takes the lead role to ensure that the Remembrance Day is commemorated and that the Poppy Appeal is fully supported.
