Cabinet approve Parkwood to run Braywick Leisure Centre


Cabinet have approved a decision to appoint Parkwood to run the new Braywick Leisure Centre, due to open in September 2020.

Parkwood currently run the Royal Borough’s other leisure centre sites including the Magnet Leisure Centre in Maidenhead which will, remain open as normal until the opening of the new centre.

The appointment of Parkwood to run Braywick Leisure Centre, builds on the successful partnership with Parkwood, developed over the past four years, which has seen over 300,000 additional uses of the leisure centres, as well as a number of service improvements.

Cllr Samantha Rayner, lead member for leisure said: “I am delighted that Parkwood made a successful bid for the contract. Parkwood impressed us with their vision to make Braywick Leisure Centre an amazing facility which will serve our residents for the future. They share our desire to make this an outstanding centre for sport and community use. They will also bring a fresh approach to the cafe area which is very exciting and reflects the change in expectations and experience our residents deserve.”

The new centre is scheduled to open on Saturday 5 September 2020 and will feature a 10 lane pool, 200 station gym, dance studios, squash courts, netball and football facilities and car parking for 430 vehicles.
