Suspended parking bays for utility companies, contractors and builders

Table of Contents

This parking suspension will set a specific parking bay aside to facilitate works either taking place in the bay itself or in the area adjacent to the parking bay where Traffic Management Measures have to be placed in the bay itself. When the parking bay is suspended it remains empty, unless Traffic Management Measures are placed within.

Suspension of parking bay sets the bay aside, however it does not allow the applicant parking or using the suspended bay as storage area.

We don’t suspend parking bays to reserve parking for contractors, builders, visitors or to facilitate building works. One off suspensions to facilitate concrete or steel delivery might be considered, subject to scale and extent of the project.

In order to make an application you have to fulfil the following requirements:

  • A notice period of 28 days (this includes the 14 day period for display of the notices), is required to implement the suspension,
  • If the application is made less than 21 days prior to suspension date you will be charged and notices will be placed on site, however suspension will not be enforced,
  • The charge for a suspension is currently £997.00 (for a duration between 1 to maximum 28 days). An invoice will be generated for the payment of the fee.
  • Yellow suspension notices will be displayed on street, 14 days prior to the suspension starting date.
