Longer-term needs for school places

Table of Contents

The Royal Borough has been developing its Borough Local Plan (BLP) and accompanying Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP).

The IDP, which was first published in May 2017 and updated in February 2018, includes a section on providing new school places for children living in the new housing proposed in the BLP.  The analysis supporting that work has since been updated and was reported to the borough's Cabinet in November 2017.

The detailed supporting analysis is now available in the borough's Assessment of need for additional education infrastructure.  The current version is v1.2.

In February 2018 we published our desktop study of the potential capacity for expansion on existing school sites.  This is explained more fully in Section 5 of the assessment

In February 2021 we have now also published the feasibility studies examining every school site in the borough, and its potential for expansion.  You can find out more on the Achieving For Children website, including the link to the individual studies.

Area-based analysis of the potential demand for school places arising from the BLP, and the capacity to meet that demand (currently based on the desktop study) is also available.  Please read the introductory document, which explains the information presented in each analysis.
