The need for affordable housing in the Borough is significant and the Council is committed to doing all it can to address this need and ensure it is a place for everyone. The Council does this through a variety of means, including requiring developers to make provision towards affordable housing. This requirement is set out in the adopted Local Plan 1999 which provides the current framework for future development in the Borough.
This Planning Guidance Document is intended to provide further information and guidance to developers in line with national guidance.
