One of the key objectives of planning is community involvement. The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) commits the council to a clear and consistent approach that actively involves people in planning and development. By setting out how the community, including local residents, groups, businesses and organisations will be engaged in the planning process, the council's decisions will be both effective and robust.
The SCI was updated in 2016.
To ensure efficient and effective community involvement, it is essential that the council is notified of people who wish to be consulted and that their details remain up-to-date. Please register on the council's consultation database.
The SCI contains a pro-forma which can be filled in and returned. A copy can also be downloaded from the relevant link.
